The Wounded Healer
About Hana
Cancer survivor. Chronically ill. Chronically hopeful. A reader who found her gift in the dark — and never stopped offering it to others.
The Name That Found Me
If there was one Carl Jung archetype that could describe me thus far, it would be "the wounded healer."
Chiron, the wisest centaur in Greek mythology, was known as a legendary teacher, healer, and the archetype of the "wounded healer." Accidentally hit by Heracles' poisoned arrow, Chiron developed a wound that wouldn't heal, nor could he die from it, as he was half immortal. To escape eternal agony and free Prometheus, he gave up his immortality and became the constellation Centaurus.
His story happens to be especially important to my journey. Ironically the name "Centauri" was chosen before I knew anything about this story. When I learned about it, I wept — because it was like a living message from source. "That name was chosen for you before you even knew what it meant. Learn from it."
I am a chronically ill cancer survivor with quite a nuanced story, and "permanent" injuries in my ankles that won't fully heal — but my healing is never something I give up on. It does, however, give me a unique connection to Chiron.
How the Cards Found Me
Like many, my journey started with a difficult childhood — but that is not where it ends. Cards were a welcome therapy. My card divining began at a young age, casually with close friends and family. As a woman of spirituality, connecting with Tarot was like putting on a favorite sweater.
I remember during my early journey, I wasn't always so confident in the messages coming through — until one day, everything changed.
I remember exactly where I was: standing outside my car, looking up to the stars, surrounded by redwoods. I had been experiencing a hard life for quite some time and arrived at a dark night of the soul. That night, in complete surrender, I cried out to the stars above — to source — to use me as a tool for change, for hope, for humanity.
Something shifted that night. Later on, when I picked up the cards, suddenly I was able to handle them in ways I never could before. My readings became precise and "blind." It was now a clear way to help others through the guidance of our own innate connection with "source."
Why I Read
The journey to come to this point in life has been wrought with many lessons — but one thing remains constant: my life's purpose in reading for whoever seeks answers and understanding.
Left with a feeling of being seen by source. To be reminded that there is a knowing that is sentient between all of us and everything. It is always listening. That sentient knowing is sometimes referred to as "Spirit." It goes by many names — but it's something undeniably present.
What wants to be known now: Spirit loves you unconditionally and is always able to be connected with, if we so choose. The cards are not necessary — yet they are a dynamic spiritual and visual tool, which can aide us in connecting with what is always there, what is always listening, waiting for us to reach out.
Centaurigoods
The shop grew from the same impulse as the readings — a love for objects that carry meaning. Crystals, antique jewelry, oddities, ritual tools, and curated treasures that feel like they were waiting to be found. Centaurigoods is where those objects find new homes.
"Forever and always. And so it is."
